Are there any expert fontographers in the house? |
|
I need to know if there's a utility that will let me extract source files from Postscript and/or TrueType fonts on Mac OS9 or X.
Basically the upgrage to OSX has rendered our hundreds of professional-quality fonts obsolete. I could re-package them as OpenType - IF I only had the source files!
Is there a way to extract all that info from the compiled fonts?

benburch, I wish you luck on this one. I did a search and found nothing.

3. OpenType puts a wrapper around PS and TT fonts |

It's basically just a huge ripoff allowing the type companies to resell their expensive fonts. But supposedly, OpenType will force TrueType fonts to play nice with imagesetters. I'll believe it when I see it. I despise TrueType fonts, but I must admit we use a handful of them here at work.
