ATHLETE IMPALED -- A member of the Brigham Young University men's volleyball team was impaled on a hurdle while he was practicing jumping a series of hurdles on Tuesday around 5 p.m. The man's foot hit a hurdle and knocked the center bar off its legs. The man then landed on the legs of the hurdle, impaling himself in the groin. The 21-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery.

1. Potential Darwin Award candidate
depending on the severity of the groin injury.

You do not have to die to receive the coveted Darwin. All that is required is that you remove yourself from the gene pool by rendering yourself unable to reproduce.

4. I shall never jump hurdles again.
I should have learned after the incident I had with the javelin. I never did find out if that kid recovered.

8. Yes. There were, disturbingly, worse executions in the middle ages.

3. Poor guy
FRom what I see this is the type of injury that males spend a great deal of time trying to avoid.

10. Mormons don't need anything found in the groin area. Not for a long
time anyway.

12. i have a lot of mormon students in my calculus classes
i wish more parents did as good a job as the mormon's in raising responsible and hard working children. they are a joy to teach. all kids who want to learn are a pleasure to teach though.

their theology may be zany, but real good personal values
