SO, I'm working on the resume...
Edited on Sat Oct-02-04 01:52 PM by HEyHEY
And I;m debating if I should put the three months I worked as a reporter in ALberta on there. If you recall I left because there was a huge scare the paper was maybe closing (it didn't). I'm not sure if I should try to communicate that is why I left or not. Or if I should just leave it off and put down the ten months I have where I currently am.

What do you think?

1. List it on your resume, but wait for them to ask you why you
were there for three months. Also, what did you tell your current employer about that experience (why you were looking for a new job?).

If they ask about it, just tell the truth - unstable position.

3. Told my current employer the truth
I have no problem with that, I'm just worried they chuck the resume in the "no" pile based on that without even asking me.

4. I wouldn't worry about them tossing your resume
for that. You were working - it's not a gap in your resume that needs explained. I think you will be fine. :-)

2. If you could put a more positive spin...
...on your reason for leaving, I'd say put it in. Experience is experience.

On the other hand, few people want to hire someone who'll jump ship at the first whiff of difficulty. Say you were offered an opportunity that you couldn't resist (even if it later fell through).

Hell, you're a writer -- write something!
