What's with the Yellow Ribbon "Support Our Troops" stickers?
Seems like everybody in my area has one or two of them on their cars. Are they giving them away at Wal-Mart or something?

Note to lurking buttheads: My question has nothing to do with my wish that every soldier comes home intact. (and as soon as possible)

1. Around here...
The American Legion Post in the next township is selling them, as well as star-spangled magnetic ribbons.

2. Just a support our troops ribbon
I have one right below my Kerry sticker and my sticker that says PROUD PARENT OF A US MARINE. Keeps people thinking about the Iraq war which I believe helps Kerry.

6. Right on! I think so too!
the repugs don't own the Flag Or our Troops, Or God, for that matter.

9. That wasn't my point.
I was wondering where everyone was getting them.

3. I don't know, but I'm starting to see similar ones at Meijer.
I'd almost bet they were selling them at WalMart -- that would make sense, considering the variety of people I see with them (some of them with Kerry-Edwards bumperstickers).

I wondered if the original magnetic ones weren't sold for a charity that was donating a percentage to veterans or something. Not sure, but I've seen a lot of them -- now, I'm starting to see the pink 'breast cancer awareness' ribbons, too.

4. They are on many cars around here too.
There are also red, white and blue ones. I bought mine at the grocery store the other day...impulse buy at the check-out. But I wanted to put it on my car that is plastered with Kerry, DNC bumper stickers and smaller ones on the back windows for him, and Veterans for Kerry! I want repugs to know that WE DEMS also support our troops. I saw a good one earlier in the summer--yellow one...that said "Support Our Troops; Dump Bush" Wish I had one of those!

5. A lot of people in my small town have

them so I ordered one(googled it ..$4.00 & free shipping) and put it right above my Kerry/Edwards/A Stronger America..

We want the troops home safely, not in a box.

They threw in a ..red, white, and blue, "Freedom Isn't Free" magnetic sticker..and I put that one up there, too..like my friend says..No, "It's Hard Work!"}(

7. At the Air force Museum yesterday they were selling for $7!!!
At the local Flea Market they're $1 and $2... Buy one, Fellow Consumer. When you display a magnet, there's no need for REAL patriotism...

8. Have you noticed that they are so big, you need an SUV to display?
I've seen some on regular cars and they are placed sideways.

12. I'm amazed at how many I've seen here in
Ohio. I asked a girl at a gas station where to get them and she told me Meijer's, a regional store here in the Ohio, Michigan, Indiana (buckeye biased order of listing here) area.

I was thinking the same thing as someone else mentioned: it shows that Kerry supporters also support the troops, too. Of course, it's my opinion that the very best way to support the troops is to bring them home.

14. Iowa Air Guard
They sold them for $5 as a fundraiser and I got one for my car - right next to the Kerry Edwards sticker.

16. For some reason, everyone I see has them tilted.
And they have like 2 or 3 of them on the back of their giant trucks and SUVs. Does that mean something? Or is it just cause it looks kick-ass? Fucking Texans.

17. Some smartie's raking in the dough, that's what!
At $3.99 a pop in my local convenience store, I'd say someone's getting mighty rich off of people's "patriotism"
