Does this DU trait bother you?
Edited on Sat Oct-02-04 03:47 PM by KzooDem
I just ran acoss this thread in one of the other topic areas. The originator of the thread posted a question along the lines of "I just heard about XYZ on the news. Does anyone have any details?"

Someone replied saying they didn't know anything about it and would be interested in more information as well.

The question referenced a news incident that ocurred yesterday and has been discussed here to today. The person originating the post knew the main details.

Presumably they know how to use the Internet since they got here to ask the question. It would seem to me, then, that the person would takea couple seconds and do a Yahoo! News search or a Google search or WHATEVER. Or at the very least go back a few pages in LBN or GD to see if there is a thread.

It strikes me as the height of laziness. For some reason it has annoyed the hell out of me just now.

I'll go pop a chill pill, but is this annoying to anyone else or am I just in a ornery mood this afternoon?

1. I think I know the post to which you refer.
Said poster is VERY well versed in the internet and has worked in the IT field. He was merely reporting what he heard someone he knows, who is in a position to know directly, told him; something of enormous interest to most of us here.

Yes, it may be a rumor, it may simply be un-verifiable, but that doesn't necessarily make it UNtrue. It may very well have happened; we have no way of knowing.

Do you have problems with posters who discuss their office conversations, as many do? There is NO diffference.

3. I vote.......
YES.. I agree with you.:)

The ones that bug me are ...

TURN ON CNN..KERRY ON ...NOW...

It always reminds me of the sign on a store I saw once.. "Back in 10 minutes"...

DUH.. Unless we know WHAT time you LEFT.......

back to the posts.. I think it's a given that most of us pretty much watch the same stuff anyway, so those posts are kind of meaningless, and for the person who clicks in 4 hours later, they just think :wtf:..

<moderator hat on>... Hit alert when you see those, and we can help you out :) </moderator hat OFF>

:hi:
