My dog peed on my husband
Just walked up to him, lifted his leg, and tinkled on my husband's shin. Husband did not take well to it--rolled pup on his back and said BAD DOG to his face, then put him in his crate for a time-out.

What's up with the marking behavior? My husband may need more exercise, but is he really that easily confused for a tree?

7. Another word for kennel
where he is confined for his own safety when we are not there to supervise him--which is not often.

2. Please accept my sincerest apologies
for laughing my ass off when I read your post.

Now that I can breathe again... indeed, I wonder what's up with the pooch. Maybe your husband is putting out a particular scent or something like that?

12. Oh yes, it's that Eau de Phyrhydrante that he wears.
Seems to attract dogs from miles around.

As for the hubby, well, I'd have to catch him first :-)

13. that's weird because
I thought that after he got fixed he was supposed to calm down on how much he marked his territory.

15. Well, pup stopped humping my leg all the time after he got fixed
so it did have some effect. It got so bad for a while that I told my mother, "If I get pregnant again I won't be able to say what species it is."

5. Your Dog Pees On Your Lawn Doesn't He?
So what's the difference? He hoses the landscape one minute he hoses the hubby the next, pretty much the same thing isn't it? They're both yours to have your dog pee on as you please.

6. How old is puppy and is he fixed?
Could be a dominance issue, you know - especially if he's more bonded to you than hubby.

It could also be that he really, reallyhad to go. The "Bad Dog" and crating should keep the bad habit from continuing.

Could be worse, puppy could be humping hubby.

9. 11 months and fixed
and, yes, more bonded to me than to him. We have noticed some jealousy when I pay attention to Mr. Forradalom.

14. How old is this pup?
Getting put in his crate when he's had an accident isn't going to scar him for life or anything (the dog considers his crate to be a place of safety) but make sure you are right there when he wakes up so you can hustle him outside fast so that he has a SUCCESSFUL peeing experience. That's the most important part.

17. This is like Matcom blaming farts on his dog, isn't it?
Quit using the dog as a crutch. Admitting you peed on your husband is the first step.

18. I'm sure hubby isn't pleased, but I had to laugh.
I've had many many dogs becuse I do volunteer rescue in addition to having 2 of my own, and I've never had THAT happen. Males usually do that to show marking a sign of ownership. This is MY STUFF, so I'm going to put my mark on it!

I'm sure your husband doesn't want to hear that either! I would suggest your husband keep a very close eye on the pup, and as soon as that little leg starts to lift off the floor, he pick him up and put him outside! I don't think putting him in his crate will work because he won't know what he did wrong. AND, you don't want the crate to be a punishing place either. It should be a place of refuge and somewhere he feels secure.

Tell your puppy you love him all the time, and take him out often while he's still a baby. His little bladder can't hold it very long. I'm sure he'll be fine. Remember, kindness and love are much better trainers than dicipline. Doggies really want to please you. It's your job to get them to recognize what you want them to do.

21. My dog peed on my 6'th grade teacher when he came over for dinner
My parents never got over it and they had to coax me into going back to class the next day.

I had to laugh at your post it brought back memories of my dog peeing on my teachers boots right at our dinner table.
