and things of this nature. I can only assume the spelling variant he employed is due to his upbringing and education and such having taken place in some sort of furrin place where they speak Mr. Belvedere English.
Eurofied spelling only bothers me if I know the person doing it speaks Americanese natively and has taken on the spelling variant as some sort of froo-froo flourish to liven up their otherwise dreary web persona. It's a lot like faking an accent in verbal conversation.
