Dr. Porkenheimer's Boner Juice |

ROTFLMAO.
That was GREAT.
I can't believe they got that on the air. I woudn't be surprised if some affiliates in conservative markets dropped it.
Bravo!

2. I thought it was funny, if a bit sophomoric |
|
I also enjoyed the skit with Affleck as Carville.

It might give him the cajones to debate better.

It don't think they went into it looking to make a lot of laughs.
I think they genuinely wanted to see if they could get through it and if it had any potential as an ongoing sketch. It doesn't.
Rachel's deadpans were ++ though.
They skewered the swiftboat guys bad.
(I'm watching it currently)

5. It wasn't funny because... |
|
they had her doing lines every other sentence; whereas last time it just seemed more "natural."
It's a shame...I really thought it had potential.

6. It was hilarious the firt time i saw it ! |
|
I remember the players themselves were laughing , which just made it funnier ! My wife and I were a little bummed when it flopped tonight, as we had many laughs with the concept since that first night. I hope they give it another shot.

7. The cool thing about the first one, |
|
for me, was I got to see it as it was supposed to be (they weren't laughing) at the dress rehearsal, and then the live one, which was really funny because everyone just broke down.

No, when you get tickets you can choose to go to either the dress rehearsal or the live show. The rehearsal is 1/2hr. longer (from 8-10). Then they figure out which skits didn't do so well, and take them out for the live show at 11:30.

Sometimes I work as a stagehand, and I used to know a few guys that have worked there, So i was curious. Still, it sounds cool. I lived in NYC most of my life and I never saw the show live, or Letterman either.

The Carville sketch was okay. Affleck does a good C.
Kerry is taking some shots tonight. No one can accuse SNL of being partisan.
I thought Forte's Bush in the debate sketch was spot on! I was surprised. I thought they'd play up the Bush faces more. Too obvious I guess.

9. Rachel Dratch is consistently miscast |
|
She's probably the best of the bunch technically and artistically, but since she's not the T-and-A interest, she gets buried in the mix. The last thing she was showcased in that did well was as Virginia Klarvin (partner to Will Ferrell as "the Luvvahs"); "The Girl With No Gaydar" suffered from poor writing; and I kind of got the impression that "Debbie Downer" came out of an inside joke, probably with Jimmy Fallon.
But she did a great Barbara Walters last season, did she not?
Lorne, are you reading this? Give the woman some material, damn it!
--bkl Oh, yeah, "Dr. Porkenheimer's Boner Juice" was great!

10. She lost an important castmate in Fallon. |
|
Out went her half of the Boston Teens sketch which I found occasionally quite funny.
She is AWESOME on Wakeup Wakefield!

16. Yeah, it's not there yet. |
|
But I remember Norm McDonald's first update and it was brutal.
There were some highlights.
1. The Norman Fell Camera Take Award. 2. Amy's "I got Hashish in my nouse!" line. That was SOME delivery. 3. Horatio's suit during Elton John was almost worth it, but the bit missed.
