John Edwards to be on Turner Classic Movies!
Yes, I know he needs to be out on the campaign trail, but don't underestimate the value of appealing to movie buffs (including New Dealers and old baby boomers like myself) on this wonderful film channel.

Four senators, including John Edwards, are scheduled to introduce politically oriented movies during the month of October. John Edwards will be appearing the evening of October 7th to introduce "Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb."

And don't forget to vote in the online poll on best political movies. The last time I checked, Democrats represented 42 percent of the TCM poll voters!

Here's the link for the Edwards appearance. Be warned that the TCM site can be rather confusing, and searching for an individual movie title or actor may work and searching for Senator Edwards may not! Click on "This Month" for special features, including the political movies series.

In between working to get out the vote, we need some R&R. Perhaps a movie fills the bill for some of you, as it does for me.

2. Yeah, I figure a TV appearance is a TV appearance.
It's like going on David Letterman's show or "The Daily Show" -- make yourself visible to people who may not be watching C-SPAN or standing by the railroad tracks.

Besides, "Dr. Srangelove" is an excellent movie choice, given the current state of the world. It's more timely than ever!
