We Spent $300 At JCPenney Today - And SAVED $350!
they had a HUGE sale and both the Mrs and I needed new work clothes. So, we head out this morning to JCPenney (they sent us a one day only 20% off "preferred customer" card.

anyhoo....

they had deals like Buy 1 $40.00 sweater and get the second for $1 PLUS our 20%!

we both got a TON of new clothes and Mrs Matcom just tallied it all up. We spent $311 total and SAVED $351 off regular prices.

no WAY could we have afforded to drop $600 on what we bought today. we got so many clothes that we are now going through our closets and making piles for Good Will!

BTW, prices were NOT inflated!

3. The way my wife figures it
If you use my wife's math then they paid you $40 to take the clothes. The way this works is you take the $351 you saved and pay out $311 for the clothes, leaving you $40 to the good. So not only were the clothes free you actually made $40.

6. Glad you got a new wardobe.
Hate to guilt trip you mat, but JCPenney is a major Repug donor. I stopped shopping there several years ago.

10. Sorry Rave.
I'm just callin en the way I see em.

My family shopped at Penney's for so many years. My mom used to get her hair done there every Friday night in the 70s. The one at Highland Mall in Austin used to be a happy place for me. :-(

Bastards.

11. We got a good deal at Sears on Friday
We went to look at a water softener (man, do you need it in this town), and found the one we wanted was on sale for $340 off. Not only that, the nice man gave us a mail-in coupon for a free under-the-sink water purifier system, worth another $230. Not bad. Now if only I can install them without flooding the basement.
