I just picked up Q and not U's "No Kill No Beep Beep", except it's on CD and now on my computer. I'm hopefully gonna see them live in a week or so (10/11), too :)

I'm going down to Minneapolis soon to pick up tickets for the Death Cab for Cutie show that's coming up, so I might stop by a couple of those places to see what they've got.

I liked RATM, as well, even though I'd never heard them before. Fleetwood Mac is more my speed, LOL!:D

It brings back memories.
Back when "alternative" really was alternative (i.e., it was NEVER played on the radio), I used to head down to Northern Lights in downtown Minneapolis. It was on the corner of Hennepin and 7th, just down the street from First Ave.
There we could buy records (yes, RECORDS) by all those weird obscure English bands that we'd only heard about from our older brothers and sisters in college-- bands like Bauhaus, Joy Division, the Cocteau Twins, Killing Joke, Wire,....
If it was all-ages night at First Ave (typically Sunday), we would go there and hang out before the doors opened. If it was Sunday, you were assured of seeing Soul Asylum playing the Entry, if nothing else.
It was one of the few escapes for geeky kids from the 'burbs who hated the "cool" kids and had better things to do than play JV football.
