You! Yeah you! OUTTA THE CLOSET! Naah, not THAT closet (Your bad records) |
|
That could have been clearer, couldn't it? I wish the subject line could be longer, but then, I at least would write entire novels up there.
So what's the worst record you ever bought on purpose? 45s, cds, cassettes, lps, cassingles, 78s, whatever. Extra points if you got it on 8-track, though.
I already did a whole poll featuring the worst 45s I ever bought, so I oughta be exempt from answering. Anyway, I doubt I can come up with anything worse than "When You're Hot You're Hot" no matter how far I expand the criteria. Still, I once bought "Hearts" by America, the one whose HIGH point is "Sister Goldenhair." I had a Fugs record, but I think they were trying to sound awful, so I'm not sure that counts. ("Saran wrap/ Saran wrap!") And many people feel that my Sacred Harp records are only so much caterwauling, but I love them and will hear no ill word spoken against them. Not that I listen to them what you would call often, but still.
Come clean. Bring 'em on. What's your worst record?

... thank goodness! I thought you meant my GPA at the first school I went to. Whew! :)
But, to the subject at hand, no, I don't think I intentionally bought any real clunkers (at least nothing approaching a solo Yoko Ono album).
I did once buy a John Denver 8-track, but, hey, that was 1972, and he hadn't yet become maudlin at that point.

3. Oh you don't wanna go there...... |

Many many many bad records do I own...I cannot even guess the worst! The Shaggs "Philosophy of the World"? Not even close...Kahli Bahlu "Cosmic Remembrance"? Closer...Buzz Martin, the logger singer best known for "Where There Walks a Logger, There Walks a Man"? Even closer I suppose...But you know there is nothing more inspirational than getting up in the morning and putting on the Sing Along With Mitch Miller album full of protest songs, my favorite being John Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance"....not that I actually do it, I guess I'm not that inspired... I have Jingle Cats, Singing Dogs, and a single of chickens clucking out "In the Mood" (the Henhouse 5 Plus 2) I have a disco ep version of "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida plus another disco album of nothing but Led Zeppelin covers... In short, I suppose I'm insane... :silly:

I cannot even engage in "banter" with any of you lounge lizards...How about I threaten to vote for our Christ like incumbent Bush, just to spite you "hipsters"?...

I haven't even listened to the entire album. But damnit, "More Than Words" is a great song to play acoustic with.

9. No one under the age of 30 will get this one, but |

I owned THREE albums by Klaatu in the late 70's. I was in sixth, then seventh grade at the time, though. "Calling occupants, of interplanetary craft..." On vinyl, btw.
I also had a concurrent Manilow phase, culminating in this double live album, also on vinyl with a poster.
I got the Sabrina the Teenage Witch soundtrack thru my CD club, because I was down to one free choice left and it was the least of several evils. Gave it to my 10-year-old niece, though.
And I admit it, I love "Oops, I did it again." The CD has some good workout songs on it. Always a bit of a bubblegum fan. Flame away.
Otherwise I tend to be normal.
