Today is 5thGenerationDemocrat's birthday! |
|
And it's also St. Francis Day (Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, original hippie peacenik and tree hugger and favorite saint of many Catholics and nonCatholics.)
John was pretty damn sly to be born on St. Francis Day, don't you think?
Happy birthday, dude! :yourock:

10. I have no idea who she was |
|
Cool name, though. John I hope you guys have the good sense to call your newly-acquired baseball team the "Senators." A lot of us old Tiger fans remember Washington baseball fondly and are happy for you. Y'all should be in the American League, though.

14. In July? St. Christina the Astonishing? Be nice and I'll tell you, |
|
JohnKleeb!
I was born on one of the two feasts of St. John the Baptist -- the only saint with two feasts!
I have done programs at church on saints so I know some good saint trivia.

12. The Tigers improved by 29 games over 2003, though |
|
And I suspect the Lions are going to surprise a couple teams before this season is over. They aren't good yet, exactly, but they're getting better. John I wish WR Charles "Crunchy" Rogers (from Saginaw) hadn't gotten dinged for the second straight year, though. He'll be a great receiver if he can ever just keep his clavicle intact, but he's gotten a total of five games plus one offensive series in two seasons.

Of all the saints, St Francis of Assisi might be the coolest. Whatever your politics about the RCC, St Francis is rightly beloved by all Catholics everywhere. The only downside to my birthday is that Gordon "Gordo" Cooper died today. "The Right Stuff" aficionados will recall that Gordo finally became "The Greatest Pilot Anyone Had Ever Seen." I still put "TRS" in the VCR once a year and marvel about how COOL the original astronauts really were. I'll miss Gordo. But I still had a GREAT birthday weekend. John Two cases of 'Rolling Rock' into it since Friday.
