Do you DU more than you Work?
Lately, I have. Admitting it is the first step. I can't concentrate on anything except kicking Shrub's arse.

8. So am I...
My second day here, and I'm already doing little else than checking the board for new threads and posting away. Some of it is likely due to awe, sort of like a villager visiting the Big City for the first time. None of the boards I've visited so far had more than 4000 members (one has 5000, but most of those accounts are dupes), and none have more than 50 posts a day or so.

This is freakin' HUGE! You can spend days in here and not read everything!

So I do everything more than I work, in a sense. But I work very hard to make sure Kerry is elected.

4. Not exactly more
But I spend a lot of time on DU. But before I found DU, I spent a lot of time in despair. I thought everyone else in the country had gone nuts. Now, I know we're going to win.

11. mh... well, it's their bandwidth, but still...
Selective exclusion of information? I expect the freeper place is set as home page?

Luckily, where I work, they don't care about where you go on the web. Well, actually they tell you not to surf at all while you work, but they won't be any more or less pissed depending on the political board you frequent. Gotta love freedom of information and speech, it's turned out to not be as natural a concept as it should be.

Moving to a cube farm has (temporarily?) curbed my DU from work habit.

22. Right now it's about 50-50...
I'm fortunate that, in my line of work, I have to use the Net for a number of online sources throught any given day, so a quick stopover at DU isn't out of the question.

But as the campaign is now in full swing, I've literally spent four hours at a time on DU! I do have work to do, and it gets done, but I have been, shall we say, "politically active" on the company nickel.

My rationalization is that, after November 2, things will slow down a bit.

Sure. :)

33. "Bandwagon? Bandwagon?" Now see here, JD, by crackey...
I'll "bandwagon" you, you whippersnapper! :) I'm gonna tip my age-card and tell you that the first Angels games I attended as a kid were played in Wrigley Field, Los Angeles, 1961 -- their **first** season in existence.

The roster was filled with cast-offs, wash-outs and head cases. But in their second year (playing in Dodger Stadium, aka Chavez Ravine), these guys actually made an improbable pennant run, long before there were any league divisions. Both L.A. teams, the Angels and the Dodgers, were in first place in their leagues on 7/4/62 (check it out!). As would become the case all too often, the wheels came off for the Angels in September.

I've been a long-time sufferer, from the god-awful 1970s (except '79, and except Nolan Ryan), and through the playoff letdowns of 1982 and 1986 (this one put me off baseball for a couple of years), and the close-but-no-playoff years of '84 and '85. Then there was the one-game playoff loss to Seattle in 1995. 2002 was an absolute oasis in the desert.

Actually, you've inspired me to search out a new avatar -- I'll see if I can locate an L.A. Angels logo! Hah -- bandwagon that!

Okay, Jack, I've gotta lie down now. :) But cheers -- :toast:

27. I am not on the network at work
To my dismay. I even have very legitamate reasons for wanting to be on the network like being able to email my boss right when I think of something rather than writing a note to put on his desk or something as well as sharing files.
I would not have time to DU at work anyway. I even have to stress myself out multitasking stuff that isn't easy to multitask.

I am also about to change employers soon, so I really don't have that much to do anyways and the corporate immigration business is slooooooowwww (thanks to *)

By the way (if you're interested) the H-1B cap for FY 2005 (starting on Oct. 1) of 65,000 H-1Bs has already been met!
