My pal PeeDee is still limping after a week---???
I came home from work a week ago Thursday and she was limping. I took her to the Vet Friday morning and they kept her overnight due to the swelling. I thought the leg was broken but the next morning the Vet told me she didn't have a break and I could take her home.
Here it is 9 days later and she still won't use her leg. Her knee is swollen a little bit but doesn't seem to be causing any pain. Should I take her back to the vet or find another vet to get a second opinion? How long would a bad sprain last for a dog?

1. She should definitely be improving by now.
Take her back to your vet and tell him/her that she's still sore (was any pain medication prescribed? are you restricting her activity?) If the knee is swollen, it should be x-rayed. (Do you have Lyme disease in your area? That's a very common cause of canine lameness and swelling around here. It's relatively easy to treat once you have the diagnosis.) But definitely tell your vet about this. If you don't call back, they have no way of knowing that there is still a problem. They will probably ask you to bring her in as soon as you can for a recheck. If your vet can't find out what's going on, then you might want to see a specialist. (Feel free to PM me if you need to!)
