4. Camel Light Wides
That's my preferred brand. But I don't smoke usually, just when I'm socializing....

I try to stick to MonteCristo cigars, whenever possible.

6. When I smoked, I smoked American Spirits.
No supporting big tobacco, no additives, and I smoked the organics. Still bad for me, but minimized the impact and the money went to independent farmers...

I quit several months ago.... though there are days I'd kill for one.

8. I quit years ago, but my weapon of choice was Chesterfield Kings...
And that first burst of flavor, after a snappingly clean ignition by a Zippo lighter, was always the best.

Now, I puff on a pipe occasionally -- Dunhill's 965 and Light Flake.

9. i want to start smoking pipe
it looks so distinguished and it seems like fun. i've done it, but not with tobacco in it :)

does it taste the same as a regular cig? is it more dangerous(ie, no filters)? How long does a pipeful last? how much does the tocabbo cost for a pipe? how much for the pipe itself? any good websites for pipe smokers out there?

12. Premium.

It isn't actually a brand, but it is printed on the filtered cigarette tubes I use with my rolling machine, so whenever somebody bums a smoke, they think it's a brand.

As for tobacco, I buy 5 pounds bulk at a time, usually American Harvest or American Thrust (nonadditive for both), but I'm thinking of getting a chemicals-added tobacco next time. I probably won't because it makes the tobacco moister and that jams up my rolling machine.

Here's where I order:

33. I don't know if it's true or not, but I heard that...
...smoking ultra lights is actually worse for you, because you're used to getting more smoke, so you suck harder and the smoke does deeper into your lungs than it normally would. You may want to research that. If it's true, go with lights and smoke less.

14. American Spirits.
Ditto everything politicat said in praise of them above, plus add that since I've become accustomed to Spirits, when I smoke anything else, all I can taste is the chemicals. SO disgusting.

26. Mainly Newports.
But the occasional Nat Sherman when I can't take any more menthol. Nat Sherman makes lots of different smokes, the best (IMO) being his Turkish Ovals. Hard to find, though, unless you're in NYC.

32. I used to smoke, and still occasionally do...
...and it was Camel Turkish Gold for me. So smooth and mild. I had to quit when my mom died of lung cancer (not due to smoking - she never touched a cigarette in her life). I figured it's directly in the family, I can't be doing this shit anymore. But sometimes I can't help myself. Plus, if I go to a bar, I'm inhaling a shitload of secondhand anyway, what's the difference? I'm one of those people who wasn't really addicted physically, I just like smoking (anyone else like that?) I'd make bets with people (who didn't believe me) and quit cold turkey for a week, or two, or whatever, to let 'em know I wasn't bullshittin'.

39. Virginia Slims Lights (Menthol)
It's the only kind I've ever smoked. I tried Kools and Salemns and didn't like them. I almost coughed up a lung when I tried to smoke a Malborough Green.

I'm quitting this spring, when I get a new car. Or at least, I won't be smoking in the place I'm most likely to smoke (I stopped smoking in my house when I bought a home)-another step toward quitting.
