Hard to quantify their equality of wrong wing suckyness.

RMN has the National Enquirer vertical format.
Post is the traditional horizontal format.

2. Although I like the Rocky Mountain's format better, The Denver Post |
|
is the choice for non-conservative viewpoints.

3. On Weekends, It Doesn't Matter |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-05-04 04:19 PM by CO Liberal
They publish joint issues on weekends- -the RMN on Saturday, the DP on Sunday.
Either one is a far cry better than the Colorado Springs Gazette and the Pueblo Chieftain - the Republican rags were stuck with in Southern Colorado.

I think the Post is slightly better content-wise, because I like to read Reggie Rivers' columns. But I think the movie reviews in the News are easier to navigate online.
Apart from that, I usually only read the letters in both, and the local news in the Post.

The RMN always runs the sound bites pumped out to the news org's by the white house - seems like the post is a bit more independent.

7. The News is more right-wing. |
|
The Post is slightly better. For the most part, it's a good paper. Their editorial page doesn't seem much less right-wing than the News some days though.

9. I read the post- and I hated that they combined Sundays |
|
what bullshit was that? I desperately miss the Westword now that I live in Boston. The indie papers out here just aren't as good.

10. We switched from the RMN to the Post and love the Post |
|
My husband and I switched because we got tired of the hard-right politics of the editorial page. The final straw was when the RMN minimized the state Republicans' move to gerrymander the state on the last night of the legislative session, around midnight.
The Post was outraged and showed it. The News called the move "tacky." We were also tired of the News' politics creeping into news coverage.
The Post is a solid paper with moderate to liberal local columnists. They've added a conservative lately who reminds me of the News, but I respect the Post for trying to achieve balance. If you take the Post, read Diane Carman and Jim Spencer, both locals who are top notch.
