dislocated contact lens for more than 24 hours |
|
I'm so frustrated! I have flushed and flushed with saline and Renu No-Rub solution, wiggled my eyes about, to no avail. it is not even visible, stuck in the area by the tear ducts and making me insane! I suppose I should go to the eye doc but what can he do? they are gas permeable so I should have taken it out to sleep but couldn't. I was hopeing it would dislodge during REM sleep, but no, it's still there as stubboen as ever! will it ever come out? what can the eye doc do? I better go tomrrow before I get an infection. This sucks so badly-I wanted to go to this debate party with Cam Kerry but can't drive like this, and my glasses are too weak for driving, not to mention it's distracting as heck. anyone have this happen for a long time? I've had a dislocated lens before but it was visible so I could push it around, and I used to have a little suction cup thing to use if it was ultra stubborn, but if I can't see it that's no use. I just want it out, waaah!

2. Move it with your finger |
|
If it`s by the tear ducts it`s visible.

I've had the same thing happen to me. I wear soft lens not gas perms but close enough. Since yours are gas perms, I suggest you do go ahead and see the eye doctor tomorrow ASAP if it hasn't worked it's way to where you can get to it. I'm afraid that you'll end up possibly scratching your eye or risk an eye infection and you don't want that because then you won't be able to wear your contacts.
I'm horribly near-sighted and loathe my glasses with a passion but was forced to wear them for almost a month earlier this year due to a very bad eye infection. And I'm too chicken to get the laser surgery thing.
Anyway, what I usually do is run my fingers over my (closed) eyelid and try to manipulate the contact back in place, but this probably isn't applicable in your situation since you've got the gas perms. Good luck though and call that doctor tomorrow morning! But in the meantime, I'll be hoping for the best for you.

I`ve worn them for over 30 years.
Hard lenses at that, not soft ones

6. I knew someone whose lens disappeared for |

8 months. She had no idea. The body coats foreign objects. Did you know that? It was WHITE. :puke:
Go to the Doc-you'll be mega miserable if you scratch your cornea.

8. aaaah! shit I should have gone today but no time, crap |
|
I'm calling right now and going in to work late. I just kept hoping it would move around eventually but now I've got to face reality. cripes, that explains it. it wouldn't budge right away either (it discloacted as soon as I put in in yesterday after washing it after work, so maybe it suctioned to my eye then became coated, bleeeah! the vomit guy is most appropiate.
thanks all so much for listening to my gross tale of woe and your advice!

relax tonight and let the doc handle it-I'm sure s/he'll have it out in a jif tomorrow... the other thing-are you positive it's still in your eye? My friend I mentioned thought hers had popped out-that's why she did not know it was in there-maybe it's the opposite for you?
let us know how it goes tomorrow! :hi:
