Razzafrazzin' Ethiopian restaurant! |
|
We made our semi-annual pilgrimage to Atlanta, this time so Alice could interview at Georgia Tech, and were looking forward to eating at Abbay on Buford Highway. We're both long-time fans of Ethiopian/Eritrean cuisine but in Columbia unless you can cook it yourself (I can, but still) you're going to be out of luck for anything quite so exotic. We weren't even able to stay in the restaurant long enough to look at the menu. For some reason, they were burning the incense that Cathoics use on Ash Wednesday (or at least the incense they used at the church I belonged to; Google doesn't indicate that the liturgy requires a specific incense). Regardless a very unpleasant smell and one that could hardly be less appetizing. We wound up eating at a Mexican chain; not so exotic, but no Catholic guilt thrown in with the meal either.

Thanks for the advice. Nextdoor to Abbay was a Bangladeshi place with a lunch buffet. I was curious; Alice just wanted Mexican food. Ah well.
