19. Dude, they are fucking hysterical.... I love them......

Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere

A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill,
everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice,
just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

(chorus)

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlight people

10. Jezz I can't help myself,
Reo Speedwagon sucked even more than Journey.
I am honestly sorry.

12. REO Speedwagon did suck.
And Journey could be hit-and-miss. But they did not suck. They captured a sentimental feeling of the late 70's and early 80s that means a lot to a lot of people.

Their music and performances were devoid of any trace of cynicism, but that doesn't make it crap. And what is this "overproduced" crap? Like production isn't an art too? They sounded great live, too BTW.

But hey, if ridiculing things gets your rocks off, go for it.

11. Oh, so many more - (Wheel in the Sky my one of my faves)
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 12:26 AM by nu_duer
--------------------------------------
Winter is here
Winter is here, again, Oh Lord
Haven't been home in a year or more
i hope she holds on a little longer, oh
Sent a letter on a long summer day
Made of silver, not of clay-ee-aay
I've been runnin' round this dusty ro-oo-oad

Chorus
Ooh, the wheel in the sky keeps on turnin'
I don't know where I'll be tomorrow
Wheel in the sky keeps on turnin'
I don't know, I don't know-o-ow
Nanananana
For tomorrow

I've been trying to make it home
Got to make it, before tomorrow
Ooh, I can't take this very much longer, no
I'm stranded, in the sleet and rain
Don't think I'm ever gonna make it home again
The Mornin' sun is risin'
It's kissin' the day-e-ay-ay
-------------------------------

also like:

Be good to yourself

(when nobody else will - :D )

Dont' stop belivein'

Feelin that way

Lights (when the lights go down in the city)

Lovin', Touchin', Sqeezin'

Stone in Love

Who's Cryin' Now?

(its a Journey thread - how often does this happen? so here's more lyrics)
-----------------------------------------

t's been a mystery and still they try to see
Why somethin' good can hurt so bad
Caught on a one-way street, the taste of bittersweet
Love will survive somehow, some way

One love feeds the fire
One heart burns desire
I wonder, who's cryin' now
Two hearts born to run
Who'll be the lonely one
I wonder, who's cryin' now

So many stormy nights, so many wrongs or rights
Neither could change their headstrong ways
And in a lover's rage, they tore another page
The fightin' is worth the love they save...

(chorus)

Only so many tears you can cry
'Til the heartache is over
And now you can say your love
Will never die
-------------------

Many a good joint smoked to this band...

:smoke:

16. I left out a lot of great songs on purpose.
Especially the ones that got and still get a lot of airplay.

Also, I really hate "Lovin', Touchin' Squeezin'"

27. Any way you want it - DEPARTURE
The last album they made with Greg Rollie on keys. I never was a big Steve Perry or Jon Cain fan. Gimmee the ol skool Journey, when they still had that Santana vibe to them.

28. Anything before that wuss Jonathan Cain destroyed the band.
It's hard to believe that Neal Schon played Woodstock with Santana when you hear the cheesy crap he did in the 80's.
