Just heard this group called "Dio" for the first time today.
A song called "Rainbow In The Dark."

They SUCK!
Does their lead singer have any other method of "singing" than at full scream?

1. Heh
Ronnie James Dio was the lead singer for Deep Purple before he broke off and formed his own band.

RITD was not one of his best efforts.

23. Actually
I'd say Heaven and Hell is one of the best loved albums in the history of metal. Only weird Sabbath purists and people who don't like metal diss Dio.

14. This thread reminds me of
a scene from the Simpson

Homer: Lisa, did you see the Grammys?
Lisa: You beat Dexy's Midnight Runners.
Homer: Well, you haven't heard the last of them

11. One of the better metal frontmen
Mob Rules, Man on the Silver Mountain, Last in Line, etc...the guy's got a pretty solid resume.

Here's a quote from a review of "Top 500 Heavy Metal Songs of All Time":

"For example, he has a quote from Ronnie James Dio about his song Rainbow In The Dark from the Holy Diver album which is Number 46 on the list. It turns out that Ronnie hated that song. He didn’t even want to put it on the album but everyone convinced him that he should. Oh, the irony. Just think, he hated the song, it became his biggest hit and now he has to play it at every show he does. I was actually glad to hear he hated that song. I think Ronnie James Dio is a fantastic vocalist and musician. He has always been one of my biggest influences, but I always thought that Rainbow was one of the weakest Dio songs ever written."

15. I saw dio
with motorhead and iron maiden (my partner is part metalhead). They played second. I was not impressed, I wish Motorhead had gone second and gotten more stage time.

LEMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

24. Tenacious D said it best....
Dio has rocked for a long, long time,
Now it's time for him to pass the torch.
He has songs of wildebeests and angels,
He has soared on the wings of a demon.

It's time to pass the torch,
You're too old to rock, no more rockin' for you.
We're takin' you to a home,
But we will sing a song about you.

And we will make sure that you're very well taken care of.
You'll tell us secrets that you've learned. Raow!
Your sauce will mix with ours,
And we'll make a good goulash baby.
Dio, time to go!
You must give your cape and scepter to me.
And a smaller one for KG.
Go! Go! Dio! Dio!
