"Sonny had some work to do at a recording studio in New York. I was just sitting by myself out in the hall, bored to tears, playing on some old manual typewriter. When the freight elevator came up, and its wood-slat doors opened, out stepped Bob Dylan. It was the first time we'd met. He told me he liked what I'd done with 'All I Really Wanna Do,' which made me feel like floating away. Then he went in to talk to Son.
