OK, not Charo. Not really. We tried, but she's all busy with that "the Surreal Life" show where I believe she's gettin' it on with Flava Flav out of view of the cameras. But I digress. Since we were unable to book Charo, we've made alternate arrangements, and we're THRILLED to be bringing to the NC crowd, for the first time ever, the one, the only - DU'S own VELMA!!!

That's right, folks, Velma's coming to town, so dolo and I are going to have some folks over to get drunk and burn stuff. If you're in the area (Chapel Hillsborough or thereabouts), or if you feel like venturing into the area, PM one of us for directions, then come join us for the drinking and the burning of stuff. It'll feel good, like that Chuck Mangione song, or an erotic massage.

26. OK, here's the plan:

Find someone with a big-ass dog crate, and dress up in a wookie outfit, then have yourself shipped with Velma as a pet. It'll cost an extra $100 or so. Once you arrive, you can take off the costume if you like, or you can keep it on and troll the streets of NC for sex perverts with furry predilections.

So if you're thinking you might maybe try to come over Friday, pop in and share yer thoughts. I figured most people would probably feel more comfortable trying to find the place with their mapquested directions in the daylight rather than the dark of night. It's kinda rural*, and we wouldn't want anyone to turn around and go home rather than stop and ask any of the neighbors for directions for fear of being made to squeal like Ned Beatty. So I guess we could pick up some propane and propane accessories for the grill this week and people could bring anything they want to throw on and we could eat, get drunk, and burn things. It sure seems much easier (from your lazy hosts' perspectives) to make this shindig entirely BYO.

* dolo amber insists that my description of our home as "kinda rural" is misleading, and that the only location possibly more rural than this would be the moon. I maintain that her negative disposition towards the boondocks life stems from her inability to correctly pronounce the word "rural."

or keilbasa? Don't like those. you could do stuffed eggs.
Stuffed Eggs
Serves: 4

Ingredients

4 hard-boiled eggs
8 oz cooked ham, ground
4 tbsps grated mild cheese
4 tbsps sour cream
2 tsps mustard
A pinch of salt and pepper
2 tsps chopped fresh dill or chives
Dry bread crumbs
Melted Butter

1. Using a egg pricker or pin, make a small hole in the egg.*
2. Lower the eggs gently into boiling water.
3. As the eggs come back to the boil, roll them around with the bowl of a spoon for 2-3 minutes. This will help set yolk in the middle of the whites. Allow the eggs to cook 9-10 minutes after the water reboils.
4. Drain and place the eggs under cold running water. Allow the eggs to cool completely and leave in cold water until ready to peel.
5. Peel the eggs, cut them in half lengthwise and remove the yolks. Combine yolks and all the remaining ingredients except the bread crumbs and melted butter and mix well.
6. Pipe or spoon the mixture into each egg white and mound the top, smoothing with a small knife. Sprinkle on the bread crumbs, covering the filling and the edge of the whites completely. Place the eggs in a heatproof dish and drizzle with melted butter. Place under a preheated broiler for about three minutes, or until crisp and golden brown on top.
* Using a egg pricker or pin to make a small hole in the egg will help prevent the shell from cracking
