I missed that last few minutes of the last one (the pilot).. can someone explain a little about the signal they heard when they took that transponder up to the high ground?.. what was the deal with that? are they in some time warp or something? or some old signal is replaying? I caught right up until they shot the polar bear, then had to go to the store... my girl filled me in a little...she caught more than i did..

It's not really a dog whistle.. the guy has been sort of keeping to himself. And was just sitting there carving. A guy came up next to him and asked what he was carving, and he said it was a whistle.. presumably just for something to do.. so it wasn't meant to be a dog whistle but it was high pitched aparently and the dog came...

They did spot the dog breifly in the first episode, too.. but didn't know it was the kids dog.. just wondered why there was that dog on the island but then went on their way.
