Does this require a supreme bitch-out?
I just spoke to my friend who got bitched out by her boss today because someone phoned her on her cell at work for a personal reason. She said her boss told her "We need to go out for coffee."
So they went out, and she starts in on this "You gotta get your priorities straight" kinda talk and reminds her she'll still on her three months probabtion.
Now, my friend is extremely honest so I know there isn't any other kind problem.

But my point is - do you really need to waste time going out for coffee to bitch someone out when a simple "Please don't take personal calls at work" would suffice?

Sounds to me like it's her boss who needs to get her priorities straight.

1. Depends on how close to a termination it is.
If its a repeated problem and if the boss is considering firing her, I don't think it would be out of line to have a serious meeting.

3. So this "probation"
... is for a new hire and not some disciplinary action?

If that's so, then yup, way out of line.

its a better manager that will not embarass the person they are correcting. Ive never been a manager, but I think it shows class when a manager doesnt assault the pride of their slaves, i mean workers, by reprimanding them publicly.

Plus, i bet that girl talks on the phone all the damn time.

i think the manager's being petty, but I haven't seen a whole lot of non-petty management in my relatively short life.

What else is management for? I mean, if they weren't worrying about this kind of shit they might actually have to find something to do, like work. :eyes:
