Does anyone here have lucid dreams?
As soon as I dream that I am in a storm I instantly know I'm dreaming and take over. For years the tornado dream was a recurring nightmare, but now I use it to take over and let my imagination loose.

2. Not sure what lucid dreaming means
From your post I assume it means taking control of the dream's content and image.

I learned to do this with night terrors; change the picture to something else, but not with regular dreams/nightmares. Wish I had that skill!

4. I read about it somewhere, and the article mentioned recurring dreams
may help you take over. You can really let you imagination go, flyinging is pretty cool.

8. My dreams are almost always different
but I will try to remember that if I have one of the "repeats." They always involve large gatherings of musicians and I'm due on stage. So that could be fun to mess with.

10. I've always heard about flying dreams
but I've never had one.

I have had lucid dreams, but they're almost always scary. I usually wake myself up because they're frightening, even though I know I'm dreaming.

6. My dreams are in Technicolor "high definition" with "surround sound"
I dream every night and since I have some fear of heights, nearly always find myself high up on something. They often wake me up.
Just the other night, I landed in a helicopter (no doors of course) on a helipad on the top of a NYC skyscaper with high gusty winds. I had to walk over to the edge that had no railings in order to take OPEN metal stairs, hanging over a street 100 stories below, to another roof below.
:scared:

The problem, I am WIDE AWAKE and it is only 3 a.m. Sometimes I get online and start posting as getting back to sleep is futile. Thanks DU for always being there!

7. naw, but it sounds cool though
I don't have lucid dreams, but I sure do have prolific dreams. And they feel very real at the time, and I spend a bit of time writing them down, and figuring them out. It would be super to have control, as you've mentioned. Can't imagine it, really, but maybe it's more just being aware or partially conscious during the event.

9. Yes - I've enjoyed this sort of thing since childhood.
Taking control of a dream is great experience if you can stay asleep when the moment of realization comes. On the rare occasion, my dreams will spin completely out of control... and this has lead to some vivid nightmares.

12. Yeah, they're kinda fun.
usually dopey shit, like once, I was using a locomotive to hostle junk passenger cars around a rail yard. Kinda fun, it'd been a long time since I had handled a loco, and then, it wasn't a diesel.

Never anything cool, like flying like Superman, or commanding a U-boat, or banging Sandra Bullock....
