Help Me Choose My Outfit!
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 11:02 PM by slinkerwink
My mother has courageously offered to buy me an outfit for my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary, so I went online browsing. Here's what I've come up with so far. I found this shirt I really liked, but I'm undecided between two pair of pants and two pair of shoes. I'd appreciate any advice from you guys.

http://s7ondemand1.scene7.com/is/image/Anthropologie/45296_nat_frt?sl=pa0&op_sharpen=1&size=220,337&cropn=0,0,1,1&fmt=jpeg&cache=on,off

And below are the two pair of pants I'm undecided with.

And this is a belt I've decided that would go with either pair of pants.

And these are the two pair of shoes that I think would go great with the outfit. Arrrgh....so hard to choose between them.

So, help me choose which pair of pants and shoes to get :-) I already have a very nice wool black blazer to go with the white tuxedo shirt.

13. I think her point was
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 11:11 PM by Kennethken
that if the pants have no belt loops, they oughtn't be worn with a belt at all. But I'm a guy, and that's just what it would mean to me - no belt loops = no belt wearing

edit: changed his to her (sorry cc)

4. I don't think your mom or grand parents care what
you wear. Are you going to honor them or look for a boyfriend?

9. umm....
I will let slink respond to that.

But whatever , Slink, the boots are hot and so are the pumps.

I like skirts better than funky black pants, but I think the non-zippered ones are hotter.

I will shut up now. I'm stammering.

16. ha, I hate wearing skirts---they make my knees look knobby
I prefer pants---classy pants :-) The last time I wore a dress was um......when I was 15. That's seven years ago.

7. first pants
because I like grey.

And I'm sorry you've opted to squish your poor toes into pointy-toes shoes of any sort. I'd go with whichever pair of shoes you think you'd be more likely to wear beyond just the anniversary celebration; why buy shoes you're only likely to wear once?

:hi:

12. I'd definitely wear either pair of shoes---they look great!
My heels that I have right now---they're in a sad, overused shape.

8. The black pants and boots...
get my vote. I like the crisp contrast with the white shirt - feminizing the classically masculine. And the boots are just hot - and versatile.

20. The only dressy skirts I like are pencil skirts ...
and I have a very hard time finding them. I don't like my knees either, but the cut is slimming and falls just past the knee. I love the look with chunky-heeled round toe shoes and fishnets. 50's reminiscent with an angora sweater. I do have a thing for kilted minis, also with fishnets and knee high Doc Martens' ... on second thought, I might be the wrong person to give advice! Just kidding - you'll look great! :D

23. I like the site...
and I could definitely find some great classic pieces (like the pants you chose), but it's generally a bit conservative for my taste. I have a particular look and I can't pull off girly. There is a definite soft femininity to their line (ie. lacy pastels and flower patterns), beautiful, to be sure -just not me. I like bebe.com. Their clothing has a sexy edge, and the cuts are incredibly flattering. I'll have to recommend that site to my best friend, however ... it is so up her alley. Thanks! :hi:

...I REALLY like the darker pants. With the boots.

(As if I've not made a lifestyle out of being contrary...)

22. First pair of pants with the pumps
but make the pumps mules and you've really got it made. No kitten heel, you need something more substantial with pants.

Good luck! I could NEVER buy pants without trying them on first! Lucky!
