1. New England Confectionary Company (NECCO) . . .
Edited on Thu Oct-07-04 02:42 AM by TaleWgnDg
Charlestown, Massachusetts.... chocolate.

edited to add: didn't NECCO just move from Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, Massachusetts, not too far from MIT to Revere, MA, see their url at: http://www.necco.com/

edited again to add: oops I was wrong, NECCO has ALWAYS been on Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, Massachusetts not too far from MIT, until a couple of years ago when it moved to Revere, MA. The candy manufacturing plant in Charlestown, MA was the Schraffts Chocolate Company who have since moved or dissolved.

5. I love Necco Wafers.
Favorite flavor is white (cinnamon). Wish they made all 'white' packs like they do the chocolate ones. I could live without the purple and pink ones.

14. Funny I just started reading David Sedaris's new book
Edited on Thu Oct-07-04 09:07 AM by underpants
He mentioned getting Necco wafers in the first story in the book.

I remember them, not my favorite but pretty good. I always was weary of them what with all the 70's paranoia about DRUGS and poison in Halloween candy. Remember that?

Same size as a quarter. Not that one should do that, because that would be wrong.

22. "It's a Happy Fizzie Party!"
My favorite was the root beer.

They pulled them off the market in the Late '60s when cyclamates were banned. Seemed they didn't work with any other artificial sweetener available at the time.
