The silicon chip inside her head
Gets switched to overload.
And nobody's gonna go to school today,
She's going to make them stay at home.
And daddy doesn't understand it,
He always said she was as good as gold.
And he can see no reason
'Cause there are no reasons
What reason do you need to be shown?

Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
I want to shoot
The whole day down.

2. I think it was a very fitting song for teh West Wing episode...
...where the pipe bombs get set off in the school pool during a swim meet. It gets played over teh scene of Josh, Toby and Donna watching the events on TV.

7. It's on the link I posted, but basically...
...the band heard a news story about a girl that shot up her school and when asked why she said "I don't like Mondays." Thus the name of the song.

5. While in Atlanta during the tour
While in Atlanta during the tour, one radio station's wire service ticked out the story of Brenda Spencer, the
troubled schoolgirl whose wild shooting spree in San Diego made front-page news. She explained herself
simply: "I don't like Mondays” Geldof composed the song on the spot, originally as a reggae. Back in Los
Angeles after the tour, a studio demo was recorded with grand piano and vocals.

8. Ya know? It might have made a good reggae song.
I'd be interested in hearing it. I know the reggae version of "Dark Side of the Moon" rocks.
