Democrats don't need to waste time wondering about face lifts and botox.

We have the issues on our side. Lets not deflect from what will help us win.

I am interested in Laura's cosmetic procedures, just as the Bush team is interested in saying that Kerry is Orange and Kerry is French and Kerry had Botox.

What I'm saying is that the reason that the republicans make fun of Kerry windsurfing, getting tanned, or having botox....the reason they bring up topics like the pen at the debate, or other meaningless items, is to distract the american public from the issues that actually matter.

How does a tan, a sport, a botox treatment, on either side, have anything to do with how this country needs to be run? How does Laura Bush's botox change the underfunding of education and police forces in this country? How does it protect our ports and our airliners? How does it help solve Iraq? How does it reduce the deficit?

If you're curious, great! Curiosity is a good thing. I just think that if we fall into the Republican trap of turning our attention away from the actual issues, it will only embolden them to do more attacks, or respond to our attacks. It will then get more newsplay than Bush's mistakes.

Our greatest strength, and our greatest chances, lay in speaking the truth, and talking about the actual issues. I feel that talking about other issues, as completely irrelvant as this one, only strengthens the Republican cause. That's my opinion. You're free to disagree with me, and I'd love to hear your side. We're not freepers after all, we can change our minds and have rational arguments, can't we?

Ridicule is an effective weapon. I'm not ceding any weapons to them. We should use everything. Everything. No holds barred. Fair game.

We can speak the truth on the issues and also use ridicule as a weapon. One doesn't rule out the other.
