Poll question: What naughty activities did you participate in when you were High School?
We were all angels in high school, I realize, but we all had our vices. What were yours?

1. I mooned a police office and got caught in 11th grade
that was probably the most "naughty" activity I ever did my entire high school career.

- Had an underground paper for the purpose of tweaking the mostly Republican student body.
- Found a sports car parked in a Disabled-Only parking space. Left a note: "Sorry about the Dent." (No dent.)
- Put up an ad for School Colors Toilet Paper.
- Put a powerful electromagnet on a row of Freshman lockers.

23. TPing houses and other schools
I did the drinking and Pot, also. I spent many a night TPing someone's house. For us, we TP'd friends houses. My sister and I were the ringleaders and we only got TP'd once since my house was difficult to hide in the front yard. Then my older sister got the wild idea to TP other schools in our school district. Aboutr 4 or 5 of us would TP a school every Thursday night. We didn't do any damage, just 'decorated' the school. Pretty soon, various police would watch the other high schools trying to catch us. A few times, we hid under bleachers or jumped fences and hid in yards while the police were searching for us. Finally, a fellow student who did not go with us told the school authorities. We had to go clean up various schools for awhile.

26. I didn't do any of *that* stuff, but I did
cause more than my fair share of trouble.

We were staging the Bolshevik rebellion for a World History course. In our scholastic event, the students formed groups and took on the arguments of one segment of the rebellion's ideologies in a discussion.

When it came time for our group, we stood up and declared that before any further discussion could be considered fruitful we would need to do away with the current authority. To wit, we'd enlisted the help of the football team, blindfolded and tied all three of our instructors in chairs and wheeled them out into the bus lot. Then we took over the class for the next hour. Sat on the furniture. Drank Coke and ate junk food. Wrote naughty things on the blackboard. We got excellent marks.

One day, if I'm feeling brave enough, I may confess what we did during the reinactment of the Tai Ping Rebellion.

Then there was the time we roped off the site lines to the school roof and it's extensive network of covered walkways...and then held a kegger on the roof of the school. Kids kept wandering in drunk all day long. The faculty were out in the woods most of the afternoon thinking they'd find the party out there. But no.

Did I mention the day we hijacked the speaker system and delivered our own version of "Morning Announcements?" No? Prolly best left unsaid, really.

Oh yes...there's more.

34. I cut class once - to go register to vote!!
It was on a Friday afternoon, and I had turned 18 years old a couple of days before. I had only one class that Friday afternoon, and I was doing very well in it (I ended up with an A for it), so I used that afternoon to catch a bus and go to my local Board of Elections to register to vote.

This was in 1974, and at that time, I felt no real political party affiliation, so I registered as an Independent. And during my college years, my first four general election ballots were absentee votes.

I registered as a Democrat in 1984, mostly to volunteer on a campaign in which the former mayor of my hometown was running for State Senator. It was an open race, and she won easily.

43. I was not part of a clique nor was I a stoner or partier
I neither drank nor did drugs (I've never even been drunk or high) when I was in high school.

About the worse I did do was not go to class. I hated high school on many levels and my mom would let my brother (of blessed memory) and I stay home if we promised to clean the house. So I guess you can't really call it cutting class if your mom calls in.

Only once did we call in for ourselves and we sat in FEAR all day that we would get caught and never did it again.

Both my brother and I were good students.

60. Streaking...
I was almost an angel in high school.

Well except sometimes after P.E. you just gotta run outside naked screaming like a lunatic. Oh yeah, by the way, this did NOT impress the girls. After that they would just look at me and snicker.

I cut classes a few times, but I always had an excuse, even if it wasn't a good one...

I never smoked, drank, or did drugs... not until college.

A girl let me see her breasts once, and wow, I still remember that like it was yesterday! I guess she figured it was only fair, because she'd seen me naked a few times. But no touching. That was as far as I got with sex in high school.

Yummmmm, explosives and fire. But I was always mostly legal, never a vandal. I only had to lie to my mom about the burns and shrapnel wounds once, and after that I was always very careful. (Honest Mom! We were burning stuff in the campfire, and then I fell in the brambles...)

I'm lucky I'm not blind.

61. Close to perfect
I drank a few times and had sex a few times. Other than that, I was so driven into doing well at my running and school and extra culrricular activites that I refrained from intoxicating substances and trying to get a date. I also belonged to a rather conservative church and agreed with them that that stuff was probably sinful and not to good for teenagers to indulge in.

73. Joining the SDS
Dressing completely in black and wearing a huge Peace Symbol. I did it to piss off my Right-Wing John Bircher principal. It worked. The guy actually tried to deny me my diploma, but couldn't make it stick since I had a straight-A average and an almost perfect SAT score.

These days I'd probably be a Goth, but I did my best with what was available to me in the sixties.:hippie:
