I am sincere; I would like to know what countries would take in a systems analyst, his wife and 14 year old son......should the worst case scenario occurr.

At that point we will be one step closer to faschism and I wouldn't feel safe in this country anymore...I keep my ear to the ground and Pax Americana will not be a safe place to me, IMO.

Many countries don't take emmigrants and others have tight standards...my spouse is anglo saxon descent and I am a descendent of King David....Is Israel or the Orkney Islands (off the coast of Scotland our only refuge?

How can one find out about countries that desire English speaking folks...we want as easy a transition as possible.

Is land still cheap in Transylvania?

Cozumel, beach, drinks, and a broadband connection to my job back in the states. I'd be set!

14. Many places I could live there, Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende
Attended a jazz festival in San Miguel and Etta James came to a jazz bar and jammed half of the night. San Miguel is being taken over by Americans so prices are going up. Guanajuato is more real Mexico and beautiful. Weather is perfect in both places due to high altitude.

2. Can we flee as refugees??
I am gay, so Canada is real option; especially since my Mom is a Canadian citizen. I think that gets me some preference in their points-based immigration system.

3. Canada.
Vancouver, specifically. They've got fields of weed as far as the eye can see and the roads are paved with hash.

6. Check out Costa Rica...
one of my best friends moved there in July and that's a possibility for me (I also feel I need to have a plan). Unfortunately, I don't have any of the particulars. I think that if one has a college degree the chances increase because in some places that's what you need to teach and most places need teachers (I don't know that for a fact but that's what I heard). Along those same lines, if you have a skill that certain place needs, your chances increase. I also think Canada might be a good option.

7. Welcome to Canada eh?
Canada accepts more legal immigrants relative to its population than any country on Earth.

In the past two years, almost half a million immigrants arrived, a shade less than half of them in one city alone -- Toronto. The largest numbers for the country as a whole, amounting to almost 40 per cent of the total, came from China, India, Pakistan and the Philippines.

The federal government, responsible for immigration targets, heralds these waves on humanitarian and economic grounds, the argument being that immigration shows Canada as a caring country whose new arrivals will fuel future economic growth.

19. Have a cousin who went to Alberta to teach, married a rancher.
and became a Canadian citizen. Dual citizenship is allowed. There was a teacher shortage in eastern Alberta, western Saskatchewan which is kind of bleak prairie. British Columbia around Vancouver and Victoria can't be beat for weather and scenary.

10. Australia is still looking for computer people. I am pass the age
limit. Australia use to be to the far right. How times change. I wouldn't go to Israel. It doesn't sound like a fun place. You can also try New Zealand. I met a guy from England several years ago that was a computer expert. He only went to countries without income taxes and was self-employed. Some of the countries were Bahamas, Grand Caymen, and Iran. You probably don't want Iran either.

I myself am going to switch occupations asap. I've had it with them send computer jobs overseas. There are magazines and web sites on the internet that cater to people looking for foreign employment.

The secret hidden magical kingdom, that's where I'll be headed, and this time I will stay. Sign up with some NGO. Funny, western Christian missionaries are complaining that they are not allowed to proselytize there. I always thought Bhutan should send their Buddhist missionaries to America to try to save us from &$%#ing up the planet.

just hopefully, it won't come to that. obviously we all know that kerry has been gaining and even taken the lead in national polls, i've also like to check the electoral vote trackers, and while those polls take longer to reflect debates and such, the trends are positive:

we'll see what happens in the next couple days.

Or Italy... I have relatives in both areas, and either way I have to learn a new language (ROFL you do need subtitles to watch a Scottish Movie...) Italian may be easier, as when I was a baby I only Spoke it. We lived with my straight off the Boat from Abruzzi Great Grand mom who only spoke Broken English at best. Now I can only speak very Little, But I can Cuss you out like a Pro LOL.

Without a free America, no place on this globe will be a refuge.

I believe we will win, but if we don't I will stand and fight for my country.

Good luck in your quest. Try googling 'where can Americans emigrate,' 'American expatriates' and similar queries.

22. America is less free than I ever thought possible
and if George gets 4 more years; and appoints 4 justices to the supreme court, nothing will be left to fight over, yet for as the deck will be stacked against anyone for decades to come.

Yes, the same supreme court that gave us this loser to begin with.

I keep up the hope that this will never happen, as the leader of ACT said in the newspaper today: This is not the American that I came to live in.

He is a holocaust surivor who is giving 20 million to the Dems. He is appalled at the lack of outrage at the goings on since 9/11.

23. I see you have a Zappa quote in your profile
It's from a great song. I can remember when the Mothers first released it, at the start of a period of great turmoil in our history.

I'd like to offer you a favorite quotation to help you through these times, though it's from Berra, not Zappa: "It ain't over till it's over." I gotta believe that, should even the worst come to pass, it will be far from over.

:)

27. where is Zappa when u need 'em?
Ah for the days of before, when musicians had brains, wrote meaningfuly lyrics and could get themselves published and got recording contracts.

When no one dreamed of Justin, or Britney, when folks actually HAD A BRAIN.....

that's what happens when the media is controlled by fashists, its only a little bit of time until all hell broke loose.....
