Reason No. 39483094039 why I hate Wal-Mart
I went to Walmart to pick up a copy of F911 and some coaxial cable (It's the only store open at this time). Anyway, I get home and realize I could have got the length down. So I went back to return it. I get to the register with my receipt and the twit working there takes one look at the cable and holds it up self righteously

"Um...where are the ends?"
"It doesn't come with ends, you have to use a wire strippers and put your own F connection on it."

"Hmmm....Umm....But the ends are GONE."

"It doesn't come with ends, you have to cut the cable to length and put them on yourself."

"We don't accept damaged merchandise Ma'am "

"It's not damaged, it says right there on the package you have to use wire strippers and your own F connectors."

"Mumble..mumble..mumble."

"What?"

"I SAID YOU DON"T HAVE TO BE MEAN ABOUT IT!!!!"

That's right, she accuses me of gnawing off the ends of coax and I'M being mean.

She might have remembered you from when you bought the movie, and decided to deliberately give you a hard time. :P

5. Instant gratification consumerism
does that to people. They can't comprehend that someone would want to build a custom cable.

6. Nobody ever accused WM of hiring only the smart people!
They are non discrimination employers ya know.

I have a little bit of empathy for the clerk though. I wouldn't expect anyone to know all the techie stuff at an entry level job. If she was afraid she would be repremanded for taking back defective merchandise, she should have called the manager. No matter how late it is, they have to have one on duty somewhere! (Of course, who knows if the Mgr would have known any better!)
