So I met this girl tonight at my bible study... |
|
I found out that she is from Wyoming, and that she is interested, but not hardcore, into politics, and that she hates Bush. Also, she is really pretty, and a former atheist, just like me. Sounds like a winner, huh?:D

1. People who don't vote for Bush don't go to bible studies. |
|
They just try to ban the bible and kill babies.

2. Sounds like you are lusting in your heart. |
|
Just don't let it go any lower down.

But it's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop.
Just sayin'. :)

and we called Bible Study "catechism".
We outgrew it at 14.
If adults take ongoing study classes, I can think of a thousand better things to study than the Bible.

since you say girl instead of woman, I will guess you are young, in your teens, so I will suggest you go slow, find the areas where you both have common interests, and don't try to push her into areas of your interest she expresses a reluctance to explore.
Soinds like a winner? Too soon to tell, but never to soon to start considering the idea.
Best wishes.

7. Sounds like a good beginning. |

You already have two things in common, faith and knowledge of the fact that Bush is an utter disaster. "Former atheist?" Well, I went in the opposite direction, away from fear of invisible men who watch you even in the bathroom and take note of everything you do so they can punish you later (and show you a big-screen video of all the 'bad' stuff you did, according to Chick tracts). I still can't see how a "loving" god would send you to burn forever if you don't buy into some fundie or others' brand of religion, or if you just happen to have been born into the 'wrong' religious tradition, based on what cavemen passed down verbally that was finally written down in a bizarre version of "the telephone game."
But if it works for you, have at it. Just don't assume others want to hear about it or convert, cause they don't.

Perhaps after some quality conversations you can get her fired up about politics, or at least getting Bush out of office.
Congrats!

It's hard to find someone with the same values, even as a friend....
Take it slowly.....
She sounds like a winner, yes.
