Ya'all want to help me name a song? |
|
Go here and watch this movie: http://www.archive.org/download/tl/tl.aviAt the start you'll hear a very known classical song (however I can't recall the name). Any of you know? Thanks in advance!

Otherwise known as Canon in D, by Johann Pachelbel. ;-)

9. Thanks for warning me! |
|
I'm GLAD I read your post before I went there! I'd have to listen to three hours of Schöenberg and Webern to get PachelHell out of my head. :)

11. Haha! Are you a cellist? |
|
There's this one cellist I occasionally work with who always gives me a chuckle; because he not only insists upon having a Pachelbel part to read from, but it's got to be his marked part.
This guy's been playing at least 50 years; and is, oddly enough, related to a famous cellist whose name I will not mention. :D

:D
No, I'm not a cellist. I play guitar, but I've done transcriptions of Bach cello suits. Does that count? I try not to be hard on folks about PachelSmell, but I just can't help it. Why can't folks dig, AT LEAST, Palestrina or Monteverdi? I'd prefer to play the same Gabrieli canzon a thousand times in a banjo band than to have to suffer just one more hearing of Canon in D... well, the L.A. Guitar Quartet does a funny version in many styles: country, heavy metal, disco, reggae, etc.

http://movies02.archive.org/3/movies/tl/and click on the avi. The video didn't work; but I was able to download enough of the opening music to know it's Pachelbel.
