Anyone ever seen Jesus while on LSD?
Or any other historical figure of note?

Spill the details...what did they say, what were they wearing, did they have a posse?

I'm looking for enlightenment...

12. I saw Joe Piscopo while I was high
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 01:14 AM by SheWhoMustBeObeyed
We were both high. High up in a plane, on a flight from NY to LA. He acted like a jerk. Bet you're not surprised.

I never saw anybody who wasn't really there while I was tripping, except that one time I watched a really good TV show on a station that had gone off the air for the night. My friends almost passed out from laughing at me. It was the headphones, man, the music wuz makin pitchers on the screen... :hippie:

17. You can stand outside a convenience store
and have the most enlightening evening while tripping. Did you know the military first synthesized LSD? or is that only an urban legend?

My friend Sam swears that when you're tripping you can see all the energy fields in the world, but he's a little strange.

22. Tripping in public was fun when I was young
Then the paranoia got to me and I came to prefer sitting up all night in the dark, listening to music and cursing the first pale streaks of dawn. Funny how every song contained secret messages that only I could decipher. :freak:

I have seen things like your friend Sam describes, and enjoyed them, but I figure it's just one of those things your brain does when it's going haywire, like having near-death visions of white lights and dead relatives.

A chemist, Albert Hoffman, came up with LSD while trying to invent - I forget what, a better aspirin or something. But as I understand, the CIA and then the Army picked up on it in the 50s for testing as an incapitating agent. Some test subjects weren't informed they had taken it. Who knows how many brains were destroyed - I imagine the doses were powerfully large...

5. No, but I saw the entire pantheon of Hindu gods
revolving mandala-like amid the fire in my fireplace. How's that?

6. No Shit!!!
Even better.

Are you Hindu?

That would be awesome if they just came up, and you're not hindu, as if to 'represent'.

But if you are Hindu it could mean that god manifests however you believe.

I'm getting confused now.

16. Nope but I had an out of body experience
I went to lay down and after a few minutes I had the sensation of rising. Then, even though my eyes were closed, I began to see clouds as if I were flying through them.

Okay maybe it wasn't an out of body experience and just a really neat hallucination, but that experience changed me.

23. I once knew someone who had.
He became a Born Again Christian as a result. His brains were completely fried when I knew him. (He had done a lot of drugs prior to "finding Jesus".)

But I remember the line in "A Child's Garden Of Grass" where their friend Ernie kept getting high and trying to see god. One time he finally did and God told him to stop bothering him.

28. LSD: Better koans through chemistry
Maybe it's just me, but I became a "born again" after my 1st experience on LSD. I've never looked at the world (and my place in it) quite the same way, after I injested that inital sacrament 30 years ago..
