How do you feel about the word "temblor"? |
|
This word appears as a surrogate for "earthquake" in just about every news story regarding earthquakes. Doesn't it read like a child's attempt the word "trembler" or something? Always bugged me for some reason.

4. Ah-ha! But according to Babelfish |
|
temblor in Spanish translates to tremor in English, while earthquake in English translates to terremoto in Spanish. But I suppose hairs are being split at this point. Thanks shamrock.

7. So you're saying "temblor" is the G. W. Bush of earthquake terminology? |
