Poll question: Linux Desktop shootout |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 04:29 PM by salvorhardin
On the heels of the 'How many icons on your desktop poll' comes the great Linux desktop environment shootout. I'm just looking for everyone's favorite environment, not their favorite window manager, although often it's one and the same.

it's called XScreensaver. Not really a part of the windowing environment.

Fast, light and configurable. Nothing else comes close.

I like it a lot, but isn't exactly a windowing environment. :-)

So I guess you could through me in with the Gnome crowd. I like the Gnome DM more than the KDE - I get a faster response from it

7. I guess that'd be under 'Other' |

:-)
If I could still edit the poll, I'd add screen and midnight commander because I guess they're both about as close as you get to window environments on the command line.
