New season of Star Trek starts tonight
Red Sox, Star Trek, the debate--I think I'm going to watch more tv tonight than I've watched in years, and I don't even have cable.

1. without Berman and Braga micromanaging, this promises to be...
... a good season for Trek.

5. I watched the first season and liked it
but than it kind of went downhill in season 2. And than the WB put Smallville in the same time slot and that was the end of the new trek for me.
I'll give it another shot to pass time until the debate.

9. It had potential
Then they got rid of everything that made it unique.

2. You know, I'm a lifelong Trekker and I haven't seen a single episode
of this new series. I heard it sucked ass.

3. It does
I never watch this one, and I normally love Trek.

4. give it a try
The new show runner, Manny Coto, is a bit TOS fan. I think Trek has lost its way, but maybe he can bring it back to what it was.

7. You have to get into it
After a few shows, it was actually quite good. Last season was especially good because it was one long story, but that made it harder to start watching the series midseason.

8. i didn't like the last year and I love Star Trek spin-offs, but that
one was ok at first and then got too violent with a macho kind of edge. We have been watching Babylon Fives instead. Those were great. Sigh.
