edit: I'm impressed you hiked up Vesuvio. How much of a hike was it? How long did it take you. Still steaming?! That's somewhat alarming, but then I've never been next to a volcano.

7. Vesuvio isn't bad at all.

My travel mates had me all worked up that it was going to be hell but it wasn't. Especially if anyone has done "Angels Landing" in Zion National Park in Utah.

It's only a 900 ft. ascent on a zig zag path. You can get permission to hike the entire outer edge but I wasn't game for it that day.
