1. Okay, I can't resist - "I will squish your head if you say flip-flop!"
Sorry, but the angle's wrong for doing it to Bush . . .

5. I think the October surprise is the announcement of the Duck Wad campaign!
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 03:59 PM by skip fox
For those of you who are new, Duck Wad was W.'s nickname when he was a kid. His parents named him that when he kept accidentally tying his shoes together and then would walk around all day in a series of little waddle steps. The name stuck, and W.'s idiot goofiness as an adolescent reinforced the name. He was proud because he had a nickname like everybody else so he thought it showed people liked him like one of the regular guys ("wo didn't get caught with his mommy's undies in his lunchbox and stuff"). With limited processing capacity, he was able to easily ignore the taunts and spitting and slapping that attended the use of his nickname.

Now, hard put in the polls, W. has a plan to trot out the Duck Wad for President campaign, hoping to look more like a regular guy who everyone likes. He has plans to make Gonzales in Legal a Pancho-like sidekick, and go on all sorts of campaign adventures.

He dropped the "Need some wood?" line last night as a crafty little hint of what's to come. One of The Wad's favorite pratfalls is the wooden-paddle-bare-butt-spanking til they pretend to put out the firey pain with two buckets of confetti. Watch for him to drop "sticky wicket" in the next debate.

"Need some wood?" (Actually, I think W. is sprouting some; see the angle of his suitcoat on his left?)
