Why is the DU login form automatically filling in my info? |
|
This started yesterday ...
When I go to the login page, my screen name and my password are already entered for me. All I have to do is click the login button. I never check the "Remain logged in on this computer when you return later" option, so it shouldn't be storing my info. It never happened before yesterday.
I have my browser set to delete all cookies when it closes, so if I re-open the browser a few hours later, there aren't any DU cookies left on my system. I even tried deleting the browser cache, but the login form is still filled in automatically. The only way to get rid of it is to reset the form.
Does anyone know why this started happening?

3. Using Mozilla or Firefox? |
|
Both of them will autofill a login screen unless you turn that feature off. The values are captured by your browser, but not in a cookie.
It's your browser, not DU.

4. I've always had autofill turned off. However ... |
|
since you mentioned it (and since no one else is having a problem), I decided to check it out.
It was turned on! :wtf:
I'm the only person who uses this computer and I didn't change my browser settings, so how the hell did that happen?! I usually run Ad-Aware and SpyBot on Sunday ... I think I'll do it a day early this week. Weird.
Anyway, thanks to everyone for responding. I'm sorry I bothered you all with my "DU problem", when it fact it was a silly browser problem. :-)
Mods ... sorry I put it in General Discussion instead of DU Lounge, but I honestly thought it was a DU problem. Had I known it was just me, I would have put it in the Lounge. My bad. :-)

5. Did you recently install a service pack, or a security patch? |
|
If so that may have reset your internet options. They do that some times (thanx M$).
