Is Enterprise worth watching?
I didn't see it last night, but it's on again tonight on my local UPN station. I haven't been much of a fan of this series, but maybe i'll check it out.

1. Not if you're a Trek fan
Makes you want to choke the shit out of Rick Berman.

9. I'm a real bitter Trekkie
I hung in for Voyager because I was starving for Trek so bad...but I tell ya I can't watch more than 5 min of Enterprise without wanting to gouge my eyes out. Trek has always had continuity issues to some extent but they are just totally shitting all over TOS like it never happened, when Hoshi and T'Pal aren't running around half naked or in the shower or something (hey Berman you played this card already with 7, try actually writing scripts to keep our attention!). Now I hear they are trying to retcon the first awful season with some alternate timeline bullshit.

I am so done with Trek.

5. Roddenberry died
And Rick Berman/Brannon Braga were left in charge. They've run Trek into the ground, especially Berman. These guys literally brag about how they've never seen a single episode of the original series.

That tells you a lot.

4. I really like the current storyline
But I'm a sucker for alt-history.

I agree, if you're a trekkie you probably won't be able to get into it. If you're a more general sci-fi fan, I'd give it a shot.

8. Nope. And I'm a fan.
Of Kirk and to a lesser extent Picard and even some Janeway.

But Berman wrote the show into the ground by 1992; anything even remotely successful has been ruined by production. The TNG movies, all except Nemesis, had great potential - but were ruined by either bad humor or not taking the movie concepts to a proper level.

In Insurrection, starfleet's insurrectionists were basically 3 people by the end - not the whole of starfleet that the beginning promised. Picard kills the baddie too, which seems out of character.

First Contact had the BEST plot concepts, but awful humor and a campy feel to the story just ruins it. It makes a mockery of the characters when it really could have been so much more. It tries and some scenes work wonders, but overall...

Generations really looks at death and mortality. But it feels like a tv episode and they took out a lot of good scenes making Sorin be more menacing and the original Kirk ending isn't as drippy. (the vhs/laserdisc/dvd releases also see a lot of changes from the theatrical version that don't do it justice either. Sound effect and scene changes. Yuck.)

Nemesis is just worn out utter rubbish and John Logan's best work is still utter shit ("The Time Machine" remake, don't get me started on "Gladiator").

10. My problem with Insurrection
Insurrection was basically a long TV episode, it didn't feel like a movie. Don't even get me started on the Klingon puberty crap, it just felt like a really bad fanfic put on film.

As much as it pains me as a lifelong Trekkie (went to my first con at age 5!), Trek is done...Berman has killed it chasing the almighty dollar.

13. Berman probably got the Klingon bit from the internet. Worse,
Worf starts having that problem BEFORE beaming down to the planet. :-)

12. I wonder if it wasn't inspired by the current state of affairs (Spoiler)..
You know, the White House draped in Swastikas, I thought, damn, hope it dont look like that in a couple years.
