16. The Yankees
are the greatest sports team ever. I've always been a Yankee fan. A couple years ago, I gave my brother back his 1963 Yankees yearbook, mint condition, autographed by the entire team. Our family has always loved the greatest baseball team.

31. The Yankees are the Republican Party of baseball
They represent greed, avarice and overbearing arrogance.

The Sox, on the other hand, have a better team and will bring down the Evil Empire in seven.

Yankees suck!

Or, are you doing a Donald Trump in donating $2000.00 to both Bush and Kerry?

I am just being :silly:

Too busy working on the election.

How're you doing, JK? Not to highjack Will's thread but I haven't been around much. School going well?

Ok, now back to the Red Sox-Yankee thread.

14. Howard Won Election in Australia! If BoSox don't come through the Chimp
get's another term! It's up to them...If they win Kerry has a chance...we've got to watch this closely...I have no doubt the Yankees have the "bag man" waiting to find the person to "do the deed."

But then...I'm a DU :tinfoilhat: so I'm figuring the Yankees will do what it takes. :D

Oh Hell...I don't even like Pro Sports..

Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 09:21 PM by forradalom
It's hell living with a Red Sox fan. I don't know how much more torture my husband can stand.

On edit: To make things worse, our son is five this year and has taken to backing the Yankees just to tweak his dad. He cries when the Red Sox win. I think we are going to have to arrange an intervention.

25. Red Sox cannot win because . . .
well, it would violate natural law . . . and there are some things you just have to believe in to function in this life . . . that the sun will come up tomorrow, that Kerry will win, and that the Red Sox will blow it to the Yankees in October . . .

the Red Sox to face, and vanquish, their ancient foe to finally claim their destiny.

If it goes back to Yankee Stadium for a 6th or 7th game the Yanks will win it.

29. I usually don't follow baseball.
I usually don't care. Overpaid/spoiled players & owners, $10 hotdogs, grown men playing a child's game for a living.. we've all heard the schpiel.

But this year, I do care because it might make a tiny, tiny, tiny difference in the real world.

Go Red Sox. Kick their asses.

30. whatta year for the Northeast

All I can say is: Boston already has a Super Bowl and probably a President out of this year. Now, making Steinbrenner cry and having Jeter make excuses into the camera for a couple of nights would be icing on the cake.... :D

Oh, you well meaning NL team fans and AL West and Central team fans, we're sorry. You're the unfortunate victims of a no-holds-barred war, now about three years old, between the owners of these two AL East franchises to build the ugliest and meanest juggernaut of a team possible to smash and grind each other into the ground. As far as they're concerned, the rest of major league baseball exists in order to be raided for players and crushed at playoff time, with Sox-Yankees showdowns the point of it all. It's not fair to fans and is bad to/for the game, but that's how it is. The ALCS pretends to be about baseball; the nicest thing that could be said about the reality behind the scenes is that it could actually be fixed by baseball bats- issuing a bunch of them to John Henry & gang and Steinbrenner and his minions, and letting them go at each other....
