we're not off. Why do schools never get Columbus Day off? That sucks. We should get all the federal holidays off.
Election Day should also be a holiday. Think of the voter turnout if we start treating Election Day as if it is as important as Thanksgiving or President's Day.

some even though you'll slog through rain, wind, night, snow and whatever else they say, a little old paid holiday is gonna stop the delivery of the mail?
Yay! I only check my box every now and again anyway :)

Three day weekend. Don't care too much why, I'll take it. :-)
Edit: to say that I grew up in the Midwest and never really heard of Columbus Day until I came to the East coast. Is it mostly a East Coast thing?

State of Texas employees gave up Columbus Day in exchange for having the day after Thanksgiving off every year. A good trade, IMO.

for da man tomorrow. I have never had a job where I got Columbus Day or Veterans Day off.
My next work holiday isn't until Thanksgiving.
Of course I took half a day on 11/2 off to make sure I get my KERRY vote in!
