Rules for posting cat pics in Latest Breaking Mews

Thousands of people use the DU Latest Breaking Mews forum as their primary source for cute, adorable photos of cats. Please do not "dilute" the forum by starting threads that are not warm, fuzzy, and box-trained.

Please be aware of the following restrictions when posting in Latest Breaking Mews:

1. NO opinion pieces, editorials, or other stories that are not feline.

2. NO photos of cats that are more than 12 years old.

3. NO duplicate photos of cats that have already been posted.

4. NO polls, petitions, or other action items.

5. All of our other rules for posting apply as well, including copyright rules.

6. When posting articles, please use the published title of the article as the title of the discussion thread.

If your message is not Latest Breaking Mews, you should post it in the General Discussion Forum or in one of the other forums.

Be aware that we delete discussion threads from the Latest Breaking Mews Forum that do not fulfill these requirements. We will not move them to another forum. We will not send you a message explaining where your post went. Thank you for your understanding.

Like the management says, you post anything other than a cute, fuzzy, cuddly cat and they will MOVE it. And they won't tell you WHERE they moved it!

Does this mean no photos of elderly cats?
Or no photos of long-dead cats?

If it's the former, I must protest the discrimination against the elderly feline community. Old cats are cute, too.

8. On the surface, the policy might seem ageist to some

...but if the forum fills up with photos of cats OVER 12 years old, it will drain all of the bandwidth required for photos of CUTE KITTENS!

Then, the admins will start turning off features one by one to maintain stability: No sig lines, no avatars, no hidden threads, etc. etc. etc.

So you're better off just NOT posting photos of OLD CATS.
