Battle of the yard signs
Just driving around my neighborhood today I did a quick survey of the yard signs. It's about 1/3 Kerry/Edwards to 2/3 Bush/Cheney. I live in West Carrollton, Ohio. It's a suburb of Dayton which is far more liberal. The thing that gets me about my conservative leaning neighborhood is that it's mostly working class with a few middle class homes. It's just strange to me to see so many Bush/Cheney signs out in front of $80,000 homes. And get this. There's an initiative on the ballot this year to get the local income tax raised by a 1/4%. Guess who has the signs supporting this initiative out in their front yard. The same people who are supporting Bush/Cheney. This has got me thinking that a lot of my neighbors are confused politically.

Oh well. There are still more homes without any signs in their yard as opposed to those who have them. Maybe my neighborhood is more liberal than I think and a lot of people don't want others to know who they support. I've met people like that who feel that voting is a private matter and they won't discuss politics.

How's the yard sign battle going where you live?

3. For those of you who may be having trouble keeping your signs ...
Here's a suggestion. See if you can buy a tube of blue ink from a art or drafting supply store. The kind that comes in paste form is also slow to dry. Smear the stake you have the sign mounted on with a generous amount of the ink. In the dark they won't see it. With any luck they will have it all over everything, their car, clothes, face, everything! If it's a neighbor the next morning you might find the culprit trying to clean up the mess. Good Luck and remember have fun with it!

6. surprizing to be seeing dem supporting signs at all
makes me feel like this isn't rethug only territory -

since the election in may voted in so my rw regent college (pat robertson college) candidates into school board and city council - I didn't think there were liberals in va bch, va

so it is nice to see signs - some only have david ashe - congress signs - but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to pick up signs -

just recently noticed the competitor signs - they are putting them out in clumps of 10 - she has ads running all the time - rethugs put their money were their candidates are

this is what dean was talking about - dnc does not put its money were its candidates are - this is a congressional seat in washington - we need it
