Test your liberal credentials here:
I heard some of the guys at work taking this quiz online. It asks your opinion on several topics, and asks you to rank your level of interest as strongly support, support, oppose, or strongly oppose. At the end of the test, it shows how you match up against Bush, Cheney, Kerry, all of the other Democratic primary candidates, Nader, candidates from the Green Party, Constitution Party, Reform Party, and the Libertarian Party.
Here's the link:
http://www.issues2000.org/quizeng/XPresMatch2004/start.asp
I got a laugh out of it, because I matched up with Bush absolute last, and Cheney second to last. (the Constitution Party edged them out). My top matches were: 1) C. M. Braun 2) Bob Graham 3) John Edwards 4)Nader (not to worry...) 5) Al Sharpton 6) John Kerry 7) Howard Dean, 8)David Cobb (Green), 9)P. Camejo (reform), 10)Richard Gephardt, 11)Wes Clark, 12)Mike Badnarik (Libertarian), 13)Dennis Kucinich, 14)Mike Peroutka (Constitution Party), 15) Dick Cheney (Idiot Party), 16) George Bush (Moran Party).

1. Sharpton 68%
2. Kucinich 68%
3. David Cobb 63%
4. Nader 63%
5. Mosley-Braun 60%
6. Kerry 60%

I'm with Sharpton 80% on personal but only 55% on economic. I'm with Kucinich 65% on personal and 70% on economic.

LOL....with Kerry I'm 75% on personal, but only 45% on economic.

I'm probably one of the most liberal people on this site (and that's saying something), so the results are not suprising.

11. 3-way tie: Nader, Braun, Kucinich
then Sharpton and then Kerry ...

finishing in a dead even tie for last place: bush and cheney ...

btw, Edwards finished near the bottom just a little better than Lieberman ...

what surprised me was that neither Cobb nor Camejo fared very well ... could it be that I'm not as Green as I thought I was ??

after this election, I'm officially a free agent in search of a party ... what's the latest on that progressive movement that Kucinich and Dean were starting ?? maybe i'll join up with them ...

25. I don't personally know your views, but why are you surprised?
If you look at just the issues, Kucinich most closely matches a large majority of DUer's beliefs (or at least what they say they believe).

I know that there are all types on DU, and it's not fair to paint any group with such a broad generalization, but look at Kucinich's position, then look at what most of the people on DU say....they're very close.

37. Don't be too suprised-- there's no "GOP Stooge" filter
truth be told, Nader is pretty good on the issues. He's against the Iraq war, for universal healthcare, against the war on drugs, and is very progressive on most issues.

The one thing this poll doesn't factor in is how much of a stooge a candidate is for the GOP. That's why Nader may rank up their on your ideology, but also why you'd never vote for him.

Nader was in my top 5, too, and I even voted for him in 1996 & 2000. But this year, I'm strongly for K/E.

V. interesting. My results were Braun, Kucinich, Kerry, Nader, Sharpton, and Clark was only in 6th place.

My original picks were Sharpton, then Clark.

I think part of it is education. Now that I know more about Kerry, I am extremely enthusiastic about him. During the primaries, the only "Yankee" I knew much about was Sharpton. I do know we had an extremely talented field of candidates.

It's amazing to see, by contrast, the dumb-*** folk put up by the GOP. We have so much talent, and they have so little.

I bet I messed up one or two, because I misread the question. There were a few that I caught and changed because I assumed I knew what they were asking and just gave a cursory glance at the question, and then reread it and saw they had phrased it in the opposite sense.
