He doesn't sound at all different from decades ago.

2. He and Paul Simon, the most soothing voices ever.
The two of them, it's like they always sound like silk.

8. Anyone that hates James Taylors music just has no appreciation
for truly masterful acoustic guitar work and songcrafting.

14. Insipid? Nothing insipid about it, they're all just very personal songs
Not unlike any other singer songwriter in that regard :).

I hate it when they say don't change horses midstream. When the horse is drowning and is in way over his head, you didn't want to cross the stream in the first place and there's a perfectly good Democratic mule standing over there ;) :) :)

9. I love JT ...

I went to an outdoor concert of his once that lasted nearly three hours. His voice never wavered, and he didn't even seem tired. And none of the crowd was tired.

I think this is the first time I've truly appreciated these fancy speakers I bought for my computer.

10. Did anyone see his picture in Rolling Stone couple issues ago?
A young James building his house. My wife and her sister took a good long look.

17. And rockaye Sweet Baby James...
Taylor's voice is sublime. He's a musician who still composes music, rehearses it, and sings it as if it mattered as much to some anonymous listener as it does to him.

He's tops. And he's a Democrat, too.

18. His hair may have departed a while ago but his voice and guitar work
are still as crisp as they were 35 years ago.

19. Long ago and far away....
(Man, it seems like yesterday.)

Long ago a young man sits
and plays his waiting game.
Things are not the same it seems
as in such tender dreams..

Slowly passing sailing ships
and Sunday afternoons.
Like people on the moon I see
are things not meant to be!

Where do those golden rainbows end?
Why is this song so sad?
These are the dreams I've dreamed, my friend.
Loving the love I love to--

Love is just a word I've heard
when things are being said.
Stories my poor head has told me.
Cannot stand the cold.

And in between what might have been
and what has come to pass,
a misbegotten guess alas
and bits of broken glass.

Where do your golden rainbows end?
Why is the song I sing so sad?
Dreaming the dreams I've dreamed, my friend?
Loving the love I love to love
to love to love to love....

Oh no no no no
