YANKEE FANS! Check in here! |
|
How we all doing? Feeling ok? For those of us in Red Sox Nation, are you wearing your stripes tomorrow? You bet your sweet ass I am tomorrow, Boston College campus or not! :D I'm stocking up on vodka and plan on watching the game surrounded by my Yankee fans. So, stand strong my fellow pinstriped brothers and sisters, we're the underdogs, but NEVER EVER FORGET ONE THING: We're the goddamn New York Yankees. NEVER GIVE UP ON THIS TEAM!!!! WOOOO!!! :bounce: :bounce:

2. NYC actually has a sizable amount of Sox fans |
|
Apparently, there are entire bars where they frequent. Most unusual. Word up NYC Liberal, and keep the faith! :hi:

Well, thanks for the compliment..I think  I have faith in our pitching; and honestly, if I was a Sox fan, I would not be smashing the Yankees pitching because you guys have the same problem: a great 1,2 combo, but somewhat sketch after that. Although, I concede that Wakefield has dominated the Yankees. Still, I wouldn't say pitching is the great strength of EITHER team: it's their offense.

I loved how the D-backs squashed all that 9-11 do-it-for-NYC crap. Then the MARLINS, fewgawdsakes. LOL.
There's no crying in baseball.

11. let's see . . . the last time the Sox won the Series was . . . |
|
1918 . . . that's about, oh, 86 years ago . . . during that time, the Yankees have won 26 . . . almost a third of those 86 years . . .
if anyone's crying, it's the Sawx . . . LOL . . .

So that was a very ineffective swipe. All that rivalry crap doesn't faze me.
All that talk of history and tradition is just mold-encrusted bullshit. The Yankees folded like pansies before 2 expansion teams.

I didn't have that much of a problem with the sox til I went to college in Boston. The memories of the abuse I took are enough to fill me with hatred toward that pathetic group of beaneaters. I'll be watching on a 77: HDTV so I can see the despondent look on Curt Schlling's face in all its 1080 lines of glory.

completely understood.
But in all seriousness, the first time this happened, back in 1999, I stayed indoors the night that the Yankees won the LCS--Boston fans + beer can be a deadly combination.

When Boone hit the HR, I saw this Sox fan curled up in the corner of the hallway crying, reeking of beer, and tearing his sox shirt to shreads screaming "THEY BROKE MY HEART AGAIN!! THEY BROKE MY HEART AGAIN!!!" Best moment of my life.

17. Okay. This is very weird for me |
|
No offense, but I have hated the Yankees since Mickey Mantle retired.
I'm a National League fan, but if forced to name a favorite American League team, it would be the Red Sox.
BUT
A wonderful friend of mine is from the Bronx, a lifelong Yankee fan, and is fighting a tough medical battle right now.
For her, I'm pulling for the Yankees.
It's got nothing to do with A-Rod being one of the greatest ballplayers ever. And it's not that I like Joe Torre either, so stop saying that.
It's for Amy. GO YANKEES!
